Paul Bauer- President

Paul, a native of Champion, OH graduated from high school and immediately joined the Air Force. He served as an Airborne Cryptologic linguist during his 24 year career. After retirement, Paul and family returned to Anchorage, Alaska where Paul began his second career in Human Resources. Since 2003 Paul has worked for the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, The Anchorage Daily News, Tatitlek Corporation, Acuren Inspections, Inc., Trailboss Enterprises, Inc., The Department of Veteran Affairs and is currently the Human Resource Director for the Alaskan Region of the Federal Aviation Administration. Paul has served on the CPD board since January of 2017.

Larry Michael- Vice President

Answering an ad in the Seattle newspaper, Larry moved to Bethel, Alaska in 1982.  A nationally honored school psychologist, Larry relocated to Anchorage in 1990 where he worked for the Anchorage School District and then North Slope Borough Schools. He retired from education two years ago. However, he is not fully retired since he owns a downtown tourism lodging with his husband, Allan.  Larry has six children and two grandchildren.  He has fostered others.   Larry has enjoyed working with others on the CPD Board with quality leadership.  He has witnessed the effective engagement of CPD staff with individuals for healthy social and community behavior. Larry has served on our board since 2017.

Marilyn Maxwell- Secretary

Marilyn was born and raised in Anchorage. Shortly after graduation she started working in the North Slope oilfields. She began her career in administration in a joint venture comprised of four native village corporations in 1986. Marilyn began her second career as a residential real estate appraiser in 2001. She appraised real estate for the Municipality of Anchorage. Later, joining two other appraisers forming their own business, Alpine Appraisal LLC, in 2006. Marilyn retired in 2020 and now enjoys hiking, skiing and spending time with her 90 year old mother. As the parent of an adult son with an intellectual disability, Marilyn has firsthand experience of the challenges presented to this underserved and vulnerable population.  She joined the CPD board in 2017.

MaryEllen Fritz- Treasurer 

MaryEllen, an Inupiaq Eskimo, from the village of Teller, AK. has served on our board for two years. She holds a Master of Education degree and provides over 25 years experience in non profit organization management and quality improvement services. She is energized by helping people be healthy and find their recovery and happiness.

Tamra Matlock- Director

Tamra was born and raised in Alaska. She is most happy when she is out on a trail, summer or winter.  When not on the trails, she has worked for State of Alaska Dept of Corrections, Dept of Health and Social Services, Providence Alaska Medical Center, Anchorage Community Mental Health and Anchorage School District. Tamra finds it very interesting how these agencies intersect in the services provided to individuals in our state. Tamra has served on our board since 2017.
